These tools are a very good value. No their not from japan but the quality is great, and a great starting point for somebody new to Bonsai.

Received the tools on time..they were all in mint shape and had been previously oiled before shipping. This is a great value for its cost and a definite must for beginners and novices that are still looking to get started in this as a hobby without making a major investment. Most people don't realize how expensive quality Bonsai tools really are, especially japanese tools which are considered the best. Ill simply say that one tool will cost you more than this entire set. So unless you have gobs of money lying around or your heart is set on getting a really high quality set right off the bat, this is a great set to start off with even if your not a beginner.

I have been growing Bonsai's for over 13 years and I have noticed that a lot of beginners tend to go overboard with supplies. They start spending all of this money before they even know if this is something they will really enjoy and stick with or if its just a passing interest. A large percentage of the people I introduced to Bonsai are no longer actively practicing. So if your a beginner I highly recommend that you try it out for at least 6 months before you start spending large amounts of money on professional quality supplies. That is one of the reasons why I highly recommend this set for beginners. 90 dollars for 14 tools is a steal. If at a later date you want to upgrade to a nicer set you can do so. At least then you will know more about how serious you are about the hobby.

I would have given this set a 4 star rating if I was basing it on just quality however given the amazing cost of this 14 piece set, well a 5 star rating was a no brainer!!

These extractors are excellent for removing broken pipe and broken bolts. When using them on higher grade bolts, they wont last really lengthy but my work replaces the tools that I harm, I’ve not snapped one off yet.

Nice
These extractors are great for removing broken pipe and broken bolts. When using them on high grade bolts, they wont last very long but my work replaces the tools that I damage, I have not snapped one off yet.

Just the thing...
These are nice. Note that the photo is from the "old style" box
(the new style box is three rows of extractors). Near as I can tell,
these are identical to the set sold by Snap-On for about 0.

The flutes are *sharp* (which is good to get a good grip without expanding
the hole). I did a quick test and a gentle tap with the end of a
screwdriver was all that was needed to get these to "grab".

Now, no extractor can remove a bolt that's so corroded that the head
shears off when you try to turn it, but for situations where the bolt
head "died" or broke off because you turned it too far, or for pipe
nipples and other tubes that have no exterior wrenching surface, these are the
perfect tool.

Note that these are relatively short, so if the bolt/nipple is more than
1/4" below the surface, these might be too short and you may need to use
a numbered spiral remover, but these have more grip because they have
many more splines than a spiral remover.

You can also use these to remove allen and Torx screws that have had their
sockets chewed away.

Great torque screwdriver for the price!
I bought this in order to properly install AlumiConn aluminum to copper connectors in my house. The instructions say to use a torque screwdriver. These tend to be VERY expensive, but I found this "NEIKO" model for a good price here. I was a bit worried it would be so cheap that it would not work, but it works great! It is sturdy, has a nice set of tips and a great box. I've used it for a year now and it has held up fine to the simple work I do with it.

If you need a nice torque screwdriver for basic home use grab this one. You won't be sorry.

Professional-Grade Torque Screwdriver - 10-50 Inch Lbs
I checked the torque screwdriver's accuracy in the range 25-45 in-lb by comparing it to a standard torque wrench using adapter sockets, and it is good. Both the torque wrench and the torque screwdriver release at the same point, and the screwdriver's red-on-white hairline indicator is easy to read. Suggest zeroing the indicator when storing the unit.

A good product for the do-it-yourselfer.
A well built and well packaged product for occasional use. Necessary for tightening electrical connections to the proper torque (when circuit power is turned off!). Torque can be adjusted to 10-50 inch-pounds with about 1 inch-pound resolution. That said, there are two separate torque indicator lines within the sight window, spaced about 5 inch-pounds apart, with no explanation as to which is the correct one. Screwdriver "clicks" when you reach the desired torque. Accessory bits are Torx T-10 through T-40 (6 total), plus 3mm to 6mm hex (4 total), plus 3mm and 6mm slotted, plus 2 each of Philips #0 through #3. Magnetic tip accepts any standard 1/4" hex bit. Would be perfect if I knew which of the two torque indicator lines was the correct one.

Pretty much everything you need to in a Die Tool Set for SAE. Perfect except for the case it comes in. It REALLY deserves a 4.5 stars. When you open the box, pieces don't stay in place. Not a very secure case. If you open the box vertically, all your pieces will fall out. Otherwise, it's a quality product.

I had ordered this set for my boyfriend as a valentines day gift and it arrived on time, only HALF of it that is. I was sent double of some items and the rest was missing. As far as the quality goes, I suppose you get what you pay for. If anyone plans on using these tools all of the time I would invest in a better quality set, but if you only use them for rare fixings round the house then its fine. I am sending it back for refund and shopping for a better quality. I just wasted days and now Valentines day is even closer. Guess I will be shopping in a store.

I bought four of these tool kits for graduating senior boys. Of course initially they look at the gift and were quite underwhelmed. However, I have had many kids tell me how much they used them at college or in the car. This kit is great. I love the soft, but tough bag. The tools are great. High quality and a great mix.

My husband is a try to fix things around the house kind of guy. The sons and grandsons are always borrowing his tools and they never seem to get back home. He loved this kit. He says it is everything he needs. And it is going to be hidden in his bedroom closet!

While it may seem like a lot of tools. Its not a particularly good set. Further. Its just a bag, so you have to dump all the crap just in the bag. Its cheap and a decent gift for someone who has not set, but there are probably better ones out there.

As a maintenance supervisor useful hand tools are essential to the job. This collection of tools and its hand carrying care are a blessing. Although the hack saw lacks a little in design, it’s still functional. I would prefer a small blade length, but that can be remedied at your local hardware store. As far as the other tools in this collection are concerned, they work and have so far been very dependable. I highly recommend this collection of hand tools.

Awesome tools. Really nice to be able to give a tool set to Mrs Vynrod that not only was sturdy and comprehensive but also aesthetically looked great with their shocking pink accents. I’m not allowed to use the pink tools so I’m told (I’m terrible for putting tools back in their proper place) but there’s no way I could confuse them with mine so I don’t think she has to worry!

I had been needing a tool set for a long time but they are all kind of pricey. i found this one for 20 some dollars and thought this was a great deal. i was kind of nervous of the quality when i ordered, but i received them and they are great.

I bought this as a gift for a girlfriend who had tools tossed around in a drawer. It’s a nice presentation. Nice basic set of tools for routine tasks. One in one case.

I got this as a gift for my wife. She uses it often and it does the job for her. One complaint – the razor blade does not work too well. I don’t know if we got a bad one but it seems cheap. Other than that the tools work well for little projects that my wife does around the house.

This is a very nice little stater set and I was very impressed when I looked it over. Got it on a lightning deal; so it was even more impressive. I’m not rating this as a $2,000 “Mr. Handyman” array; but for what it is, a nice little starter set. It exceeds at that task.

I bought a slightly smaller version of this at Walmart for less than $20. It’s perfect for me at work but not durable enough for my husband’s construction projects. You can get the 24 piece version from Sears (with poor reviews) for $20, $10 less than Amazon’s price. Strange how you can’t find any mention of these kits on the KR Tools website.

I got this set because I needed a few tools for light repairs and I didn’t want to spend a lot of money. This set has held up for over two years of light wear. Not high quality but not poor quality either. A nice starter set.

I bought this tool set for a niece who moved into her first apt. after college grad. She loves it and uses it continually. She said it was a unique “house-warming” gift that she will use continually. It is feminine too and that was something she liked about it and the tools were sturdy.

This tool kit has all of the hand tools and a few more that a (more likely woman) will need. I have so far found all of the tools to be sturdy and well designed. Upon opening my Apollo Tool Box, I immediately noticed the poor workmanship. All of the tools have a CHINA print or label on them, as the entire kit was Made in China. There are unfinished edges to the plastic pieces (flakes or rough edges). The tools overall have the appearance of coming through a factory line and immediately being put in the box, without a final check. All tools have proved durable (though I have only had this for a month) but the presentation of the tools is surprisingly poor. Perhaps the appearance is of no concern to some, but if given as a gift, this tool box may look “cheap” due to the workmanship.

This kit makes a great gift for a young woman on her own, and includes just about everything she’ll need for minor repairs, hanging pictures, and setting up her own household. The addition of hangers and various nails and brads is great! The tools are well-made and should serve her well for years. The whole thing is a great value, too.

This tool box has been great. It arrived right before I moved to a new apartment and was invaluable in taking apart my Ikea furniture and pulling out wall mounts for shelves and pictures. The cordless electric screw-driver is an excellent addition, although a manual one would also have been nice.

I purchased this tool kit for my daughter who just moved into her first apartment and I believe every woman living on her own should have a set of tools. This set is very compelete and includes everything to help her hang pictures to fix a shelf to patching a hole. I know it is somthing she will always have and will use often.

This is the third tool kit I’ve ordered. They were gifts for my adult daughters and stepdaughter. This was the one gift that had the best reaction at Christmas; and the daughter who had received it months ago as a birthday gift went on and on describing how much she has used hers. Everyone needs tools around the house, and the fact that these are organized and pink make them the perfect set for a young woman. I will continue to keep this set in mind for future women in need!

If you’re just a normal person who uses a telephone to call a repairman more often than a tool set, this one is perfect. It has everything, and it feels solid and will hold up perfectly well under easy use. The master handyman had better upgrade a bit. Closing the top without pieces falling out is an art that can be mastered.

Stanley is definitely a descent brand and this tool set is pretty enough for everything i need. The only thing I want to complain a little is you need t a screw driver to open this tool set. (If I had a screw driver, I may not need to buy a tool set!) Other than that, that’s all fine!

I bought this kit to keep in the house and avoid having to run to my larger tool chest in the garage when I need a couple of basic tools. In general, the tool quality is good for general household use, and I really only have two complaints about the kit. The first that is that the ratchet is basically junk (but what can you really expect for $43?). It’s O.K. for light duty work, but don’t expect to crank on it very hard without it breaking. If you think you’ll need this tool often, consider buying a higher quality ratchet and socket kit. The other issue that I have is that there are no wrenches included in the kit. I plan on picking up a cheap crescent wrench to add to mine. (Come on, Stanley, increase the price a few bucks if you have to, but make this a complete kit by adding a crescent wrench!) Finally, the plastic box that the tools come in is nice from the standpoint of being able to quickly locate a tool, but the box takes up a lot of storage space. I bought a small tool bag to keep the tools in, and I found it more convenient. You have to look a little closer to find the tool you want with the bag, but there aren’t enough pieces in this kit to create problems finding tools.

Leatherman 830850 Skeletool CX Multitool Review
After patiently waiting four months to receive my Skeletool from Amazon it finally came. The CX is smaller than I initially expected but it really is as big as it needs to be. It feels comfortable in the hand and looks amazing. There is very little flex when using the pliers, although it is possible to pinch your thumb between the handles if you are not careful. The knife can be opened with one hand and locks in place nicely. The bit driver feature also has a locking lever which is pressed to change bits. I’ve owned other multi-tools (i.e. gerber, swiss army) and never used all the features. The CX has the essentials leaving it light weight and well balanced. Just clip it to the inside of your pocket with the belt clip and you can’t even tell it is there. I highly recommend it.

Finally received my CX. Removing it from the package I was very pleased with the overall feel of the tool, the fit and finishes are excellent and there are no immediately noticeable sharp edges. It was slightly heavier than I thought it would be, a little heavier than my usual EDC pocket knife, but not bad. Like other reviewers before me I noticed that the carbon fiber may reduce the weight very slightly, however I think it mostly serves to make the tool more aesthetically pleasing. I don’t have the problems with the bits that another review had, the bit in the bit holder is held in by a catch that has to be depressed to remove the bit, The other bit is very secure in the handle, although it may get loose once there is some wear on the bit. The bottle opener works and now I’ll carry it around for a while and see how it feels in the pocket. All in all I’m very happy with the tool, it has most of the tools I use the most, lacking only the scissors, in a smaller lighter package.

I’ve always wanted a leatherman, but am not the type of person to carry one on my belt. The Skeletool is as light as the pocket knife I used to tote and a lot more functional. Basically, there’s just about everything I need on here except a lighter and flashlight. The fact that the blade opens from the outside of the handle is a great step forward for Leatherman and the factory edge is razor sharp. I now realize how handy it is to have a wire cutter and screw driver with you at all times. Normally my key ring always had a bottle opener on it ever since college, but after the years, I finally wore it out. Having one on the Skeletool makes it a necessity to keep in my pocket wherever I go. I don’t make a living using this tool, but as someone who just likes to be prepared, I’m really happy with the purchase.

If you are thinking of buying the Skeletool or Skeletook CX, then you probably aren’t looking for a multitool that has every possible gadget. It has a knife, a bit driver, a good set of pliers, a pocket clip, and a small carabiner clip that doubles as a bottle opener. That is all. It does not have scissors, a file or a saw. It does not come with a sheath. It comes with two double-ended driver bits – one with two sizes of phillips head and one with two sizes of flat head. These are proprietary bits so you cannot use any other bits from other tools you may already own. I strongly recommend ordering the Leatherman bit set right off the bat. It’s mainly intended for backpackers who don’t really need basic tools to repair and maintain gear in the field while keeping weight to a minimum. It’s about the same size and weight as my Benchmade Stryker folding pocket knife and I find it comfortable to carry in my pocket or clipper to my pack or belt loop (though that’s a good way to rip a belt loop and lose the tool). The big debate is whether the CX model is worth the extra money or whether you should just buy the regular Skeletool. Both models weigh 5 ounces so the carbon fiber is decorative rather than genuinely weight-saving. The CX is a little sharper looking due to its darker color, but I paid the extra money to get the better knife blade. The blade on the CX is made of the tougher 154CM steel as opposed to the 420HC used for the regular Skeletool’s blade. It should hold an edge better and take a little more abuse than the regular Skeletool’s blade. The blade on the CX is also a partially serrated “Combo edge” that gives it an improved ability to cut through tough webbing or ropes if necessary.

I was given this leatherman as a gift. didn’t really think much of it at first. a friend who works for the local PD explained how good it really was. the blades are extremely sharp and versatile. he has used the blade cut people free of their seat belts in car wrecks. the phillips screw-driver looks weak but works excellent. the small screwdriver is perfect for tightening the screw on eyeglasses. the pliers are exceptional and come in handy on various projects. all in all extremely pleased with the product and would highly recommend.

I used to carry a few tools in my tech bag, all of them have been replaced by this one awesome tool. I find multiple uses for this tool everyday. Most common are cutting things out of packages, but with the addition of the sturdy screwdriver its the one tool I keep reaching for. I purchased a 2nd one just to have on hand in case I lost mine. This also makes a great gift for every handy person.

I’m not a professional handyman, but I start every weekend by putting the Leatherman on my belt. I use it for everything from replacing batteries in children’s toys, to slicing apples during a picnic. I am very impressed by the blade itself, as it seems sharper and easier to maintain, and easier to open than any swiss army knife I’ve had. The screwdrives are helpful in a pinch but I would not rely on them for every task.. they are limited by size and their shape. The players are great for everything from holding small nails for hammering to pulling jammed CD’s out of my car stereo. Other than the the mediocre screwdrivers, I think this a great tool for weekend warriors.

When I was a kid I always had a Wenger Swiss knife so this always made me look towards a knife that could do everything. My first Leatherman was the PS1 which I owned for less than 48 hours before I laid it down on the job for less than two minutes and it walked. That was 9 years ago. Did not know the value of what I lost. In those 9 years the Leatherman tool has improved greatly. The New Wave does everything that I always needed when I did not have tools with me. It is a great product. Since most of these reviews are good I will highlight what I would like improved. When I first received the tool it seemed as if they forgot to install the lanyard ring. Emailed Leatherman customer service and they told me the lanyard is recessed at the foot of saw looked closer and there it was. That is a very nice feature. My pliers will not shut properly by just closing the handle. They get caught on the inner tools unless I partially close the plier heads. Not a major problem. The can opener/bottle opener is not as fast as a p38 can opener but easily removes the caps off Widmer heffenwiesen. These are the only problems that I can find on this tool. Awesome tool.

After reading specifications and reviews of similar products in the same general price range. I decided on the Kintrex IRT0421. I am very pleased with my purchase. This device is very quick to respond and it seems to be quite accurate when used properly. One of the main reasons I chose this infrared thermometer over the Fluke, Raytek or Sears Craftsman was that it uses 2 AAA batteries rather than a 9-volt battery. I’ve had the Kintrex for about a month now and I’m still using the original batteries which show no signs of weakness yet. The display is very easy to read even in a dark room (it’s backlighted) and you can switch from Fahrenheit to Celsius simply by pressing a button. As far as I’m concerned, you can’t beat the Kintrex for the price.

I bought it because of the low price & was surprised to find it works just as well as more expensive Fluke thermometers I’ve used in the past. It works quickly, has a good distance to spot ratio and it’s priced just right. I’ve used it for everything from spot temp checks of computer equipment to checking my freezer & my ceiling insulation coverage. I would buy the same one again if it were lost or broken.

This is a product which preforms as claimed (something a bit unusual these days). I have found it useful for ensuring true temp for my griddle, gas grill, refrigerator, freezer, and pizza stone in the oven. As time passes I find myself using it for more tasks and some not even cooking related! I certainly recommend this product!

This is a great product and definitely lives up to its product description. The unit has a solid feel and I don’t have the impression that it is a low quality product. Temperature readings are quick and accurate as far as I can tell. It provides many uses such as confirming the temperature of foods to finding heat sources in your home. It has helped me pinpoint the areas in my house that I am losing precious air-conditioning. My biggest problem with the thermometer is the laser, the infrared temperature reads from a much larger area than the laser points to and until you get used to the unit you may be confused by the temperature reading for areas at a distance of 4 feet or more away. But all in all a great product.

Buy this with reasonable expectations and you’ll be glad to have it. It’s not intended to have infinite distance focus or a super tiny probe diameter. Also, plan to have to become accustomed to the image not always being “right side up” on the screen. You can turn the probe so that the image is oriented correctly, but it works great either way. The three LED intensity settings allow you to avoid the bright spots others have complained about by using lower power when you’re looking at something close to the probe or high power when it’s a few feet away. I have used it to find a broken bolt on the back side of the engine, and to trace some wiring in my old home. It worked great for these purposes and you can’t beat the price.

The picture was in color and the “bright spot” that I had read about was negligible on the highest setting. I would probably not pay more than one-hundred dollars for this product considering the work I do. I think this is very useful in viewing otherwise impossible to see areas. I don’t however see the thick, rigid cable easily passing around a p-trap. I had also read about the picture freezing when the cable was moved. This has yet to happen to me. I was able to see object details better than with my unaided eye at close range. Overall, I’m pleased with the product and expect that innovations will lead to better viewing and remote cable control.

Yesterday I performed what could only be described as a colonoscopy on my living room wall, using this product. I was trying to snake some audio video cables a few feet down a wall that contained insulation, and I was using this camera to guide the cables past the insulation. There are better ways to snake wires but I had just purchased this and wanted to test it out. It’s kind of difficult to work with, the flexi-stiff cable is a bit cumbersome, but it got the job done.

The camera head is much too large to be practical for use in most confined areas. Also, the gooseneck is too large in diameter and much too heavy (it tends to droop down) to manipulate easily. There is too much glare off the LED light. The LCD display is small, somewhat grainy, and hard to make out at times. I noticed some stress cracks in the plastic body of the unit where the gooseneck meets the body. I don’t know how this tool will hold up in the long run. Overall I’d say it’s more of a novelty item than something that’s truly useful.

The unit itself seems to be well made. The screen is clear and the camera and light function well. I have held a provision model and the rigid model which are both slightly more expensive and I prefer this one. It has four lights modes (none, bright, brighter, brightest) and a zoom function. The 3/4 inch head is larger then you might think, but putting both a camera and LED on a unit will lead to that. It also ships in its own case. I got the AA battery model as I knew I wouldn’t be using this a lot and even with lithium batteries I don’t trust them to work if I put this on a shelf for 3-6 months at a time. This was even 10 years from now this unit should function and I won’t be looking to replace a lithium battery pack. Like any model in this range understanding the proper orientation of what you are looking at will be difficult an the viewing angle will be small and the range may not be great in a long space. This is not a fault of the unit though it is just the constraints on the technology for the price.

Bosch DLR165K Digital Laser Range Finder Kit Review
As a land surveyor I appreciate the compact size, rugged construction and accuracy of this device. It can be used in three measuring modes; metric, feet/inches/fractional inches and decimal feet – which I use for my work. It really does measure to a 1/16th inch. I think Spectra Precision, a manufacturer of survey instruments, makes the DLR165K for Bosch. Spectra Precision makes the same unit with their name on it, in a different color, and calles it the HD50 which sells for $179. The Bosch presently sells through Amazon for $144.46. Specs are the same. Why pay more? I have the Bosch and love it!

This is one of those nifty new gadget tools that actually works better than expected – and it quickly becomes a tool that you can’t do without. The accuracy is amazing and performs as advertised. It works great outdoors in place of a 100-foot tape and makes measuring landscaping layouts a breeze. Laser reflectors help in this case. When a dead tree is 80 feet from a building or power line, it is comforting to know that the tree is only 70 feet tall before you drop it. The DLR165K automatically calculates the height of an object by using the Pythagorean Theorem, a2+b2=c2. In such applications, measure in dark and cut in daylight. It is far easier to see the red-laser dot at night with objects over about 80 feet tall. To me, it is worth every penny.

I bought the Bosch after debating between Hilti PD40 and Bosch. For the money and options compared to Hilti, I think Bosch is the better choice. The Hilti at $175 more gives you a light up screen and can also shoot 300 feet. It cannot calculate the Pythagorean Theorem, which Bosch can. I gave the Bosch only 4 stars because I wish it could convert cubic feet into yards.

If you’re the type where a tape measure just isn’t quite accurate enough or you find yourself needing to measure spaces that are very difficult to reach, this is the product you need. I use it for remodeling work and it has proven invaluable for measuring, for example, the run along of the ceiling since, with remodeling, you can’t assume it’s exactly the same as the floor. I switch it to the metric system, since it is important to me that a particular piece must be 199mm instead the 197mm of the last piece. Highly recommended.

I do trim carpentry and build cabinets and needed something to give me fast accurate measurements for doing crown moldings and the Bosch delivered. It comes with a handy case that you can hang on your belt keeping it in reach. I use it for any measurement that would require me to bend the tape and try to guess what the reading would be or where the distance makes it difficult to accurately do with tape measure. It also has the ability to do continuous reading allowing you to aim at an object and move yourself forward or backward until you are the desired distance from the target object. A steady hand does help but the uses are endless due to its ability to read off its front edge, a tripod mount hole, off its back edge, or its extendable rod. It would be a good idea to make sure the tape measure you use for transferring the measurements matches the rangefinder before starting a job. The only negative I have discovered is that a measurement in feet and fractions of an inch are stored in memory and then redisplayed in decimal forcing me to then convert the number back into fractions. That said the display holds my measurement long enough for me to get my molding, measure, and make the cut before the display shuts off. I have recommended this device to all my friends who do a lot of measurements on their job.
