Weller WLC100 Soldering Station Review
I purchased this needing to do a very delicate (several hour long) solder job, and I needed more than just the little handheld I keep around the house. I used to work professionally in the electronics repair business, but had long since gotten rid of my tools. This is a very well built soldering station that really holds up. If you are a beginner or professional, you will appreciate the ease of use and nice soldering this station allows you to do. The temperature control makes it great for a multitude of projects. In short, don’t be fooled by the low price. This station will perform as well as any $100.00+ unit out there.

I use a Weller WES51 Weller WES51 Analog Soldering Station, Power Unit, Soldering Pencil, Stand and Sponge at work doing work on circuit boards. I’ve got probably 24 hours of use on the WES51 so far. I bought the WLC100 for use at home on hobby and DIY work because it is half the price of the WES51. The biggest differences I have seen being: The WLC100 takes MUCH longer to reach operating temperature(but the WES51 only takes 20-30 seconds) and doesn’t have the same ability to hold operating temperature when doing large joints. With that said, it’s as solid a unit as I’ve used besides my WES51 and can get every job done that should be needed by a hobbyist. If you are planning to use this for long periods of professional work, I suggest going stepping up, but for smaller jobs this is the station to get.

After exrpessing a lot of frustration to our internal tech guy I took his advice and finally broke down and bought a good iron. Wow. This ain’t your daddy’s $3 iron that’s for sure! Tasks that were a huge pain in the kiester become straightforward. Small jobs are an absolute breeze. Do yourself a favor and spend the dough on a good iron. You’ll wonder why you waited so long.

This is a nice soldering station at a fraction of the price of professional models. The temperature control is not as precise as more expensive models but is good enough for general use. The standard tip supplied with the unit is too large for most electronic work, but other tips are available for under $10. When I received the unit, the soldering iron did not fit into the holder. Apparently the plastic collar on the iron was warped. I filed it down a bit, and then it was OK.

Dremel 8000-03 Cordless Rotary Tool Review
I am a regular purchaser on Amazon. It’s a Dremel and it performs to the standard you would expect from a old time company like Dremel. I am very happy with the purchase. As usual Amazon ships quickly and often gets to me long before the delivery date they show. The battery stays charged even when not in the charger Dremel states will hold 80% charge for four months without being in the charger..The free shipping on items over $25 is a no brainer.

Whenever a manufacturer presents a tool powered by batteries, it is my opinion that the re-charge of said battery should, at least, be close to the time it takes to drain the power through use of the tool. I purchased THREE batteries for use in my Lithium-Ion Cordless Dremel, and still had to wait an hour and a half when It ran out of gas. UNACCEPTABLE. I figured that I would need two more batteries, and another charger, or two, to be able to work constantly with this tool. Dremel, please find a way to reduce the charging time from three hours to one, and, market a charger that can charge multiple batteries at once. Until you do that, this tool is more of an interesting toy than anything else. Please note, I give these tools HEAVY use, and I will ALWAYS recommend Dremel products. Just not the battery powered ones at this time, unless your jobs are short, and light duty.

Before Hurricane Katrina, we were living in an apartment in Bay St. Louis, MS, and building a house nearby. The house under construction and our apartment were destroyed, totally. Almost everything we owned was stored in a commercial storage unit that was under 20 feet of water. We could not get to the unit for three weeks and when we did, there was no electricity and everything was knee-deep in stinking mud, dark, and rusted. The only way I could get into my storage unit was with the diamond cutting wheel on my Dremel 800 — I used it to cut the shank off the high-security lock on the unit. The owner of the units was so impressed he asked me to find a Dremel 800 in Baton Rouge, LA, and bring it to him. We set up a shuttle of charged batteries and replacement wheels — he used his Dremel to cut off over 150 locks on storage units. Everything in our unit was a total loss but the Dremel performed flawlessly.

This can be very handy when you need a Dremel tool but can’t or don’t want to get out the extension cord. Biggest drawback is that it Stalls way too easily and that trips the internal circuit breaker. Then you have to shut off the tool, wait a few seconds, then you can turn it back on. That means that a lot of simple quick jobs are going to take a lot longer than they should have. Only option is to be very very careful not to Stall the tool but then it will still take longer to finish the job. I’m not using this tool anywhere near what I had hoped to, instead I’m getting the extension cord out and using my regular Dremel. Other drawback is that the Battery Packs are very expensive considering their size and power. I would still buy it but overall I’m disappointed with this tool and will continue to look for an alternative that doesn’t have this tool’s problems.

Dremel 7700-02 MultiPro 7.2-Volt 20,000 RPM Two-Speed Rotary Tool with 50 Accessories Review
I bought this in a bit of an emergency situation and it helped greatly. We needed a tool that could do some “hand milling”, shaping, and filing of some small plastic parts to finish a mechanical engineering project for one of my classes. It worked really well on the plastic but when we tried using it to smooth some metal threaded rods, we chewed through a few files before the job was finished. I’m glad I bought this Dremel though because I’m sure I will be able to find some use for it in the future. The fact that this unit is cordless is also a huge help even though the batter only lasts about 20-30 minutes when used.

Overall a good useful tool for light duty use only. Battery life is very short and the cutting wheels are delicate. I’ve pretty much destroyed all my wheels and stones putting the dremel to tasks which it obviously can’t handle. The case is rugged and holds lots of bits and attachments.

I bought this Dremel because it was recommended as a good dog nail trimmer for fearful dogs. My older dog goes spastic at having her nails trimmed and I had hoped she would let me use this to trim her nails. She did not, as hard as I tried. I think it is because it is too loud. I would not recommend this for any dog that has fears of nail trimming. This tool is not the answer.

I purchased this dremel primarily for trimming my dogs nails. It is noisier than expected. It does not have a nail guard like the peticare. I read reviews before purchasing this. I am still learning to use this tool; the owners manual is good ;the cutting tools do not do the things I wanted it to do. I am a chainsaw carver and I was hoping to use the dremel for detail work. I don’t believe I have the attachments capable of those procedures.

I have 3 Dremels now: a regular AC variable speed model, a cordless that runs at 5 and 10 thousand rpm, and this one. The convenience of the cordless models causes the AC model to lay on the shelf most of the time. I advise anyone purchasing a Dremel to also buy the 4486 MultiPro Chuck. If you change tools frequently the chuck is really essential, and I have no idea how I could use my 1/32nd and smaller drills with the collects available. It seems to me that much of the criticism I read in the other reviews of this product are from people expecting the Dremel to be a substitute for an electric drill– In that regard I agree that it isn’t one. However, for someone doing highly detailed miniature work, the Dremel is an essential tool, and the two cordless models are the best of the lot. I have had no trouble with the battery coming loose on either cordless model, and I am quite satisfied with how long the charge will drive the machine, and the relatively short time needed to recharge them.

Dremel 750-02 Minimite 13,000 RPM 2 Speed 4.8-Volt Cordless Rotary Tool Review
My dog’s breeder recommended this model to use for keeping the dog’s nails trimmed. Absolutely perfect for filing down her nails. I always put on a pair of gardening gloves (you know how puppies and dogs wiggle) and this cordless wonder works GREAT. Good price, great work. A very good buy.

I bought this to care for the black nails of our dog. I can take very small amounts of nail off at a time, and the nails are smoothed as I go. I started using it on the guinea pig, too, and she likes it much better than clippers. The Dremel is pretty quiet and runs for 15-20 minutes on one battery charge. It performs exactly as I hoped, and I’m very pleased.

The cordless Minimite is a perfect compliment to Dremel’s electric Moto-tools! This tool is great for quick jobs away from AC power. I recently installed car stereo speakers and the tool’s small size, fast speed, and availability of bits made the speaker cutouts in a confined space quick and easy. I strongly recommend having a spare battery for minimum down time.

I got this specifically to trim our dog’s nails. It does a great job for that… our dog didn’t pull away like she did with nail clippers. One thing you might need to know is that the tool pictured is not what you will get. You will get the newer model (or at least we did). Be careful… batteries for the older model do not fit this new one and vise-versa. The batteries for the newer model are round, not square so make sure if you’re buying an extra battery that you get the right one.

The Dremel MiniMite Cordless Drill-Pet Nail Trimming Tool is a work-horse. An excellent buy for the money. Convenient because you don’t get tangled up in the cord while trimming your pets nails – highly recommend this product to all pet owners!

Product Description
The Dremel 300 Series rotary tool offers the precision and control required to complete a wide range of projects–from fine art to home repair. Its variable speed control allows you to set the speed of the tool to match a particular accessory or the task at hand. The 300-N/55 Kit includes mid-size Storage Case & 55 Accessories.

The day might be now when you’ll use every one of the 55 accessories that comes with variable speed Dremel 300-N/55 300 Series rotary tool. With its new, dynamic design for additional comfort and control, you’ll be begging for projects to do. Depending on the task, you can adjust the variable speed of this Dremel from 5,000 to 35,000 rpm. The click-and set on/off switch allows precise speed selection. If a propeller came as one of the accessories I’m sure you could soar. But even though it doesn’t you’ll be able to fly through most project with accuracy. For huge projects the lightweight design is built for comfort giving you capable, prolonged use. If you are a control type, the comfort grip housing that’s easier to handle than other rotaries will let you take command of your tool and put it just where it needs to be.

Dremel 300-N/55 300 Series Review
I used to have a cordless dremel mini mite, and I use my corded power drill with a variety of attachments for all kinds of large and small tasks, but this week I bought a Dremel 300 with some cutting blades and the power saw attachment. I tried them all out working with my son on his Pinewood Derby car. I love this tool. The power control and variable speeds are far more useful than “hi – lo” and provide a range of control that makes it a pleasure to perform different tasks with a range of attachments. The tool itself is easy to hold, light and does not transmit vibration back to the hand. It is the right scale for work I have forced onto drills and power screwdrivers with mixed results. This is really one great little gadget. I do have one quibble; the plug is weak. I deliberately chose a corded model, and I am glad I did, but that means extension cords (don’t use a cheap indoor house extension cord, use a a construction rated cord!). I had to try several extension cords before I got one with a snug fit on the Dremel plug, that did not come loose.

This tools comes in handy more often than you think. If you are handy around the house, you’ll often find yourself with a situation where you need to cut, sand, or grind something in an awkward position. That’s where this tool comes in. It’s worth every penny. I recommend using the tool in small bursts because the Dremel will get very warm. If it stays warm for too long, there’s a risk of damaging the brushes inside the motor. Let it cool off regularly. I also recommend wearing hearing protection when operating the Dremel at high speeds. Too often we use tools and we forget about our ears. Great product and Amazon sells it lower than Sears, Home Depot, Lowes, everyone else.

This is my first Dremel. I went with this one after reading some of the poor reviews on the wireless models about lack of power, poor torque, short battery life, etc. None of these problems are issues with this model. OK, so you have the cord, but I haven’t found that to be a big problem for the sorts of applications I do. I’ve used it around the house for everything from cutting metal, sanding wood, to grinding my dog’s nails. So it is capable at both the high end and also the low end delicate work. Multi-speed function works great.

This comes with exactly as advertised. the carrying case comes with space for a lot of accessories. this Dremel is great for all kinds of projects. the only thing i did not like it that it did not come with one bit i needed. but this is not a big deal as it was only 2.37 at Walmart. One warning to everyone, buy a pair of safety glasses. the bits/discs can explode when they break and you don’t want any little pieces of them flying into your eyes.

Product Description
Its a rare human who actually enjoys clipping a dogs nails; and rarer still, the dog who enjoys it. Enter Dremels cordless groomer, a quiet, battery-powered rotary tool that gently grinds down your pets nails without cutting. We happen to know a particular hound named Sophie whos endured more than her share of cracked nails and bleeding nail beds, the result of the standard guillotine-type nail trimmers. Though she was a bit wary of the Dremel, she sniffed at it and decided it was harmless. Then we set it on the floor and turned it on. Sophie seemed concerned for a minute, but then lost interest. We let her get used to the sound of the Dremel for a few minutes, then got down to business. We expected her to cringe and pull away when we took paw in hand, for what usually follows is not pleasant for her. She submitted reluctantly at first to the Dremel, probably expecting the worst, but once we distracted her with a piece of rawhide, she forgot about the nail hubbub and let us carry on. The whole thing was quick and painless, which made a change for Sophie, and was actually kind of soothing for the humans, which definitely made a change for us. We followed the advice in the manual and alternated between two paws at a time, not keeping the abrasive on any nail for more than a couple of seconds, and we made sure each nail was cool before grinding it a second time. If we had a criticism, it would be to wish only that Dremel would include the -inch drum for larger dogs like Sophie as well as the smaller one. Other than that, its a tail-wagger.

Dremel 761-03 7,000/14,000 RPM Cordless Pet Nail Grooming Rotary Tool Review
My roommate had two `shelties’ (that my cat would terrorize). He uses this nail groomer once a month along with brushing their teeth! Yeah, they love to have their teeth cleaned, but one of the dogs shakes violently whenever her nails are being trimmed, as it only takes one bad cut with the clippers to freak out your dog. However, he just spends a few minutes grinding their little toenails and they seem really happy with the attention. As I mentioned, these are small dogs and very obedient, but I can’t see how this wouldn’t work for any dog. As for my cat, “Scratchy” – she runs screaming and hides at just the slightest sound of this thing.

I just ordered this tool last week and followed the tips of others (getting my dog used to the noise, giving her treats, only working for very short periods). Of course, the treats were “scarfed down” very quickly and then she wanted to quit. The solution!! I lined a bowl with peanut butter! Not much, just enough to keep her busy for awhile. It allowed me to work longer & she didn’t even care that I was playing with her feet. When the bowl was cleaned, we were both ready to quit. I’ll do this every few days until her nails are perfectly trimmed. Hope this works for you, too.

I have four dogs, which means having their nails clipped by a professional can get a little pricey, but doing it myself was not fun for them or me! They ran when I got the clippers out…they hated them. When the Dremel arrived, I followed the instructions and just turned it on and held it in my hand. They came up and sniffed it and soon became bored with it. Next, I tried filing… no struggle, no fear. Precaution, though, trim the hair around the nails. If it catches hair, it grabs it and wraps it around the grinder. It pulls their hair and it can be difficult to get it untangled.

The sanders included are small, so you will need coarse 1/2 bands for any pet larger than a toy breed. I have a dobe/aussie mix (large nails) that has disliked getting his nails trimmed since being a puppy. I need to replace the batteries after every other use or else the speed is not fast enough to grind his thick nails. After each use, I also disconnect the battery piece from the handle to retain the charge. Once familiar with the buzzing, my dog definitely prefers a Dremel versus a nail clipper. It is also difficult to hit the quick of the nail if you use a light touch. I like the cordless feature because it’s easier to handle and easy to transport. However, I would suspect a corded Dremel would produce a more constant rotation. All in all, a good product with the exception of battery life. I resolved that by using rechargeable batteries. However, this product would work best with smaller breed dogs or cats.
