I like the chisels, I required them for class, I got a collection for me along with a set for my neighbor. they work.

Fantastic bench chisels. Give them a quick touch up sharpening and they are as great as most any other people available. Purchase the set you can never have too several sizes. I’m going to buy a bigger mortising chisel to round out my set.

They are affordable, but don’t maintain a good edge for very lengthy. You can get them pretty sharp, but the edge will probably be gone with a few mallet blows.

They are not “premium” chisels, by any indicates, but they appear to be solid. I spent a number of hours these days, flattening the backs and honing the bevels. The steel is sufficiently tough that it should hold an edge pretty nicely, but you’re going to need to operate at getting a good edge. That’s one of the factors these chisels are so cheap, The grinding done at the factory is most likely the bare minimum that they think they can get away with. None of my chisels were sharp out of the box and all of them needed flattening of the back, three of them required significant operate to flatten.

I agree using the last reviewer, honing the back was a pain with the clear coat they put on, but once they’re sharp they hold an edge.
